32 Years
They said it wouldn’t last. No one was in favor of it. There was no excitement or congratulations from family members (on either side). We had a small civil ceremony in front of a judge and the required two witnesses. Despite all of that, as of today, we have been married for 32 years.
She saw a kid that was on a road that led to self-destruction and desperately needed help. I saw a woman that was old enough to buy beer. So how in the world did we manage to stay together for 32 years? I give credit to my amazing wife that has always let me go to the edge, yet at the same time keeping me from going over and losing it all. I also believe that God put us together. For many years I shut God out of my life. We faced many bleak times and I often wondered if we should stay married. But, God, in His infinite wisdom, kept us together. There is no way I can explain the love that I have for the gift that God has given me. All I can do is thank God for giving me such a sweet, loving, warm, caring, precious, selfless, encouraging and giving life partner and wife that I call ‘Kitten’.
Even though we didn’t invite God to the wedding, I’m glad we finally invited Him to the marriage.

Congrats! I hope you enjoy 32 more years together. Marriage and parenting are the 2 hardest jobs in the universe. It looks like the two of you could teach us all the secrets of the trade. It’s so refreshing to see a couple still in love after all that time. Truly an inspiration.

32 years is a lot of love. Put the same amount of love into the next 32 years. Not only will it make your life happier, but it will affect others too. Love to my youngest brother and sis.
