Are you guided by Global Positioning System or God’s Positioning System?
Once we discover what our destination is – we have to map out a route. With today’s sophisticated technology, mapping a route is relatively simple. We can go to several sources on the internet and simply put in the starting address and the destination address and in seconds detailed directions and a map appear. Another solution is to request a trip package offered by many travel clubs. Or if you have the money and desire you could use the latest satellite technology know as Global Positioning System. This system is the most accurate in tracking where you are in relation to where you are going. All of these systems are wonderful to use in navigating in our physical world.
What about our travels in the Spiritual world. God’s Positioning System (GPS) provides us all of the directions we need from the beginning of our walk with Him to our final destination. Directions are provided through God’s Word, the guidance of the Holy Spirit and through our prayer life. God told Abraham to go to the place I will show you. There was no Google Maps or auto clubs that provided maps and turn-by-turn directions. Abraham was guided by God’s Positioning System a.k.a. faith.
Our final destination is our heavenly home. But God may have many temporary destinations for us before leaving this world. We must seek and then follow His guidance.
