Fatherless Children - Adoption is the Answer
I understand that there are many fatherless children in the world today. It is a sad situation but this is a temporary condition brought about by the sinful nature of man. I am more concerned about the Fatherless children – those that do not know the Heavenly Father for this is eternal. Have you ever heard someone say, “We are all God’s children.”? For many years I agreed with that statement. I’m sure that I’ve made the statement myself. But, now I would like to examinee it more closely to see if it is Biblical?
Romans 8:14-16– “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Galatians 3:26 – “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
John 3: 3-5 – “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (KJV)
As the scripture shows we are all God’s creation, but not all of God’s children. We are only God’s children through faith in Jesus Christ.
God provided Jesus so that we may be His adopted children. By recognizing that Jesus died for my sin and confessing my sin, I became a child of God through His adoption plan. Glory to God! For those that have not accepted Christ and ask for forgiveness of there sins are only God’s creation without hope of eternal life with the Father.

In the sacred scripture, mankind was Gods crowning creation, for he was in fact created in His image,in His likeness. In that sense,I would say we all are His children in that He “created” us.However,to be “our” Father, He would have to beget us.This of course happens when we are born from above,(Jn.3)Spirit and water, adopted through the Spirit, through faith,
(Rom.8)and obedience(Jn.14:21 & 15:1,2).
Jesus indeed called the Pharisees sons of the devil (Jn.8:44).
Our own actions reveal who “our” father is.It is a life-long journey, will we remain in Him?I pray we do!
Peace be with you

This was a topic hard hit by a Beth Moore study I did a year or so ago. Ephesians 1:5 expresses the fact that we were predestined by God to be adopted by Him. Since becoming a Christian I have found that my birth family, that I love dearly, is different than my church family, whom I love as well. It is like being adopted and still having your real family too. But, I found that the adoption by God was an experience that evolved in me after I accepted Him. He took me immediately but it took me time to warm up to Him. I knew I wanted and needed Him in my life but how to get there and what kind of relationship there was to be was confusing. I have since found that the adoption was so full of love even before I was aware of what had happened that He was loving me before I was anywhere close to knowing He was there.
The adoption requires no huge stacks of paperwork or an out of proportion legal system. It only requires acceptance by us. He has already signed the papers, IN BLOOD RED. We were created for His pleasure and to praise Him. When we become one of the adopted kids life begins anew. It is all those kids still in the orphanage of this world that I cry for, they only have to believe and accept to leave the bondage that keeps them from spending eternity with a Father that loves them more than any one human ever will.
