Firsts

There are many firsts in our lives.

Some of our first – breath, tooth, step, bruise, kiss, date, love, argument, win, loss, job, car, etc.

When we wake up each morning, God gives us another opportunity to experience firsts.

For the first time each day;

  • Tell someone about Jesus
  • Pray to God and thank Him for His presence in your life
  • Kiss and hug your spouse and children and tell them you love them
  • Give your best to the days task
  • Sing a song
  • Tell a friend how important they are to you and that you love them

Each day that God gives us is a day for many new firsts. Take advantage of each one.

    I think about firsts and I think about stress. How we stress over the firsts in our life, then, after they are done, are thankful that we had the opportunity to do it.
    I also thought about the “Take Me Home” window that appears when you pass your mouse over the “Home” button. It is truly a wonderful blessing that life isn’t like that. If it was that easy for us to “get home,” how many of us would choose to have God take us home and miss all of the great firsts in life!

    Bill, you reminded me of what my daughter said. “I hope Jesus doesn’t come soon, I want to get married and have kids, with a good husband, etc.”

    She gets so excited about the firsts and wants so badly to be around for them.

    I loved the firsts I experienced with her, and one of the things I remember most is when she said, “Mommy, can Jesus live in me now too.” It is something to cherish as a first but it is the last. She will never lose that Salvation. What a great first!
